THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING YOUR FIRST ELECTRIC GUITAR:

1) Choose A Guitar Like Your Idol’s or Your Musical Tastes

Consider what instrument your favourite artist plays. Owning a guitar similar to your favourite guitarist can be very motivational.  It will also allow you to have a similar sound to your idol. Different guitars can sound wildly different, and if your favourite guitarist is Jimi Hendrix, for instance, you'd be happier choosing Fender Stratocaster guitar. If your favourite guitarist was Slash, you would be best choosing  Gibson - Les Paul.

If you don't have a favourite guitar hero, then the next best thing is to consider what kind of music you like and wish to play. Some guitars are designed for certain musical styles and some guitars just end up being the guitar of choice for players of certain styles.

2) Should You Buy A Starter Pack?

Electric Guitar Starter packs are very convenient, as they come with everything to will need to get started. Most Starter Packs will include Electric Guitar, Amplifier, Guitar Gig Bag, Guitar Cable, Guitar Tuner and Plectrums (Picks).

These packs are a perfect choice if you're looking for a cheap, beginners electric guitar. Most packs offer outstanding quality and value for money, they also look great as a gift, because everything comes in a nice big box!
